P90x Reviews
I realized that my p90x reviews as a whole can be a little overwhelming since I did a p90x review every day that I worked out. For people who want a real in depth look at the daily workout routing, these are great. But for people who just want an overall p90x review, it is too much info. For this reason, I decided to write a concise overall review of the p90x program and talk about the p90x results I got.
In it’s simplest form, P90x is a 90 day intense fitness regiment that you complete from the comfort of your own home. No gym memberships, no embarrassment working out in front of other people. This was one of the big plusses for me. I can do it whatever time of the day I want, and in the privacy of my own home. P90x became very popular because of the ability to work at home.
Another huge advantage to p90x is the length of the workout. Most of the workouts are only 1 hour a day, 6 days a week. This is the reward you get for working hard. Short, intense workouts that give you results faster than any other program that I have tried to date.
The program is very organized and scheduled to keep you on track. It is a DVD based program, so for the most part all you need is some space and a tv to play the DVD on. Depending on the day you are on, you select the correct DVD and follow along. The program is taught by internationally known fitness expert Tony Horton. Tony has been in the fitness industry for decades and is recognized as one of the foremost experts in the area of weight loss, muscle gain, and body toning. He has personally trained countless celebrities and other well known clients. The way Tony teaches the classes is very efficient. There is no lagging around; you are there to workout and get the job done. But he motivates you as well. I swear he’s like a therapist sometimes. Just when you feel like you are exhausted and need to pause the DVD, he will switch up the exercise and give you a short pep talk that really motivates you to finish strong.
The program consists of 12 different workouts which target different areas of your body. Examples of the workouts include Chest and Back, Plyometrics, Yoga X, Cardio X, Ab Ripper X, and more. Many of the exercises are actually fun to do. You’d never think you could get so much accomplished in such a small area. I found the Yoga to be especially fun.
One of the main questions I had was what would happen if I couldn’t keep up. There’s no way you are expected to just jump right in and be able to match your pace with Tony. Luckily the way the program is designed, you are taught how to ease into it so you don’t get frustrated or overworked. As time goes on and you get closer and closer to matching Tony, you get even more motivation because you remember where you started.
Another question I had was whether this program was safe for someone like me. I was severely overweight when I started this program and was taking multiple weight related medications to try to treat my obesity. Luckily this program is designed with over weight people in mind. I’ve had multiple friends in different situations use P90x and all of them were happy with the results. One friend was already thin but wanted to bulk up and gain muscle, while another friend was overweight (like me) and wanted to lose significant weight.
In terms of the results, I’ll let my pictures speak for me. The difference is even more noticeable in person. Not only did I lose a ton of weight, tighten up, gain muscle, and look better overall physically, but I also feel significantly better mentally as well.
There is no downside to using P90x. If you want to lose weight or gain muscle and you are committed to getting healthier, I would suggest you seriously consider trying out P90x. I wasn’t even able to fully keep up with Tony and still got the results you see in the pictures.
